Ron Smith embarked on his Agile journey in 2002, starting with a tiny yet highly productive XP team. Prior to this, he owned the second-largest art supply store in Long Island, NY, for 8 years. Utilizing Scrum, a then-little-known framework, the small but nimble team thrived, delivering cutting-edge software and web solutions with minimal members. Over the years, Ron worked in diversified industries and owned multiple businesses, including photography studios, booking offices, and consulting ventures. He later returned to a financial services company to spearhead its Agile transition. Subsequently, Ron transitioned to a traditional project management role remotely in Wisconsin, leveraging his Agile expertise. Joining Bank of America, he excelled as an Agile Coach. Presently, Ron is the founder of Particular LLC and Particular Digital, offering full-service digital solutions and SAFe Agile training. He also developed the highly effective “Waking Up Agile” training method.
